Item Description
fits for 1979-1986 & 1989 Yamaha G1 Gas Golf Cart;
Replaces obsolete for Yamaha J10-85540-2000;
Wire colors match the harness colors;
Plug in without any cutting/splicing please;
One additional red wire with 2 plugs to connected to the reverse alarm, this the only difference in wiring from the original CDI and the alarm still properly functions.

Below are the resistance readings for various coils that produce the spark:
Black Wire to Ground ~0 ;
Black/White Wire to Black Wire Grounded with key “off” or throttle released; Open with key in Forward or Reverse and throttle depressed;
Brown Wire to Black Wire ~350 ;
Orange Wire to Black Wire ~1 ;
White/Red Wire to Black Wire Open with key “off”; Grounded with key in “Forward”; ~14 with key in “Reverse”;
White/Green Wire to Black Wire Open with key “off”; ~14 with key in “Forward”; Grounded with key in “Reverse”.
If any of your readings arenlose to those, please check the wiring & that component first. Resistance test is a good start though isn’t completely conclusive, perform the test on the cart’s harness where the CDI box plugs into at room temperature, and unplug the CDI box completely when doing the test.
