  1. Accessing the Steering Shaft:
    • Depending on the design of your golf cart, you may need to remove the steering wheel and any other components that block access to the steering shaft.
  2. Marking the Alignment:
    • Before removing the old steering shaft, make sure to mark the alignment of the shaft with the steering box or rack. This will help you align the new shaft properly during installation.
  3. Loosening Connections:
    • Use wrenches and/or sockets to loosen and remove any fasteners or bolts that connect the steering shaft to the steering box or rack.
  4. Removing the Old Shaft:
    • Carefully slide the old steering shaft out of the steering box or rack. This might require some wiggling and maneuvering.
  5. Installing the New Shaft:
    • Slide the new steering shaft into the steering box or rack, aligning it with the marks you made earlier.
  6. Tightening Connections:
    • Reattach the fasteners or bolts that secure the new steering shaft in place. Make sure they are tightened properly, but avoid over-tightening.
  7. Reinstalling Components:
    • Put back any components you removed to access the steering shaft. This may include the steering wheel, covers, and panels.
  8. Battery Reconnection:
    • If you disconnected the battery earlier, reconnect the battery cables.
  9. Alignment Check:
    • Turn the steering wheel from lock to lock to ensure the new steering shaft is aligned correctly and doesn’t bind or catch on anything.
